Lead Awareness - 2 Hours

This Lead Awareness Training course is designed to assist in providing an understanding of lead and its properties as well as how to minimize exposure during any activities that might disturb lead materials. Lead Safe Renovator - 8 Hours
8 a.m. - 4 p.m.



This course was developed by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to train renovation, repair, and painting contractors how to work safely in housing with lead-based paint and comply with EPA's Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule, and HUD's Lead Safe Housing Rule. Course topics include health effects associated with lead exposure, regulations, working safely with lead containing materials and record keeping. This course contains hands-on training activities.

Asbestos Awareness - 2 Hours
8 a.m. - 10 a.m.



Class IV work consists of housekeeping and custodial workers in contact with previously installed asbestos containing material and presumed asbestos containing material, and the cleaning up of any debris on construction sites. Class IV workers must be trained pursuant to the asbestos awareness program. This training includes information on health risks associated with asbestos exposure, respiratory compliance, glove bag removal techniques and cleaning regulations.

Asbestos AHERA Designated Person - 8 Hours
8 a.m. - 4 p.m.



EPA requires schools to appoint an Asbestos Manager, called the "AHERA Designated Person" to be responsible for a number of asbestos-related activities, including the implementation of the plan for managing asbestos containing building materials (ACBM) in school buildings and compliance with the federal asbestos regulations. It is a comprehensive one-day course which follows the Model Accreditation Plan as outlined by the EPA. Course topics include health effects of asbestos, detection/identification/assessment of asbestos containing materials, options for controlling asbestos containing building materials, asbestos management programs and asbestos & related safety regulations. This course is designed to help the designated person understand his/her responsibilities and comply with the federal asbestos requirements.

Topics include personal protective equipment, work practices, safety & health, state & federal regulations, legal & insurance considerations and sampling procedures. Tabletop exercises include a "pre-bid walkthrough" utilizing specification books and blueprints. Course includes extensive hands-on exercises.
